My eyes are failing, day by day,
A slow and steady fade away,
The world grows dim, the light grows thin,
As my central vision starts to thin.
I used to read with ease and speed,
But now the words all seem to bleed,
The lines are blurred, the letters run,
And every task is harder done.
The screen that once was bright and clear,
Now seems to taunt and jeer,
The letters dance, the pixels swirl,
As I strain to see and try to unfurl.
I cannot help but feel a sense of loss,
As my vision fades and lines get tossed,
But though my sight may slowly go,
I know there’s still much I can know.
For though my eyes may lose their might,
My mind will keep on shining bright,
And though I struggle with each line,
I’ll keep on working, trying, fine.
